Your role

As an engineer you will be involved in projects from basic design in the proposal phase to delivery. The scope varies from small projects to large multi-million dollar projects. Projects are realized both at home and abroad. The clients are mostly demanding international companies working in the aviation, train and power & process industries. It works with international norms and high quality standards.
Projects are transferred from sales to the project team you are part of during a kick off meeting. On average, you spend about 75% of your time working with 2D/3D software and making calculations for a variety of projects. Large steel structures are drawn in Tekla; smaller structures in Solid Works.
The remaining 25% you are busy communicating (in person/telephone/Teams/mail) with colleagues, customer and suppliers. You will come into contact with various technical topics ranging from material science, strength calculations, dimensional calculations, height adjustments, structural engineering and safety/ergonomics.
You have a broad and varied range of tasks at the interface of mechanical and structural engineering and deal with local customer specific requirements. You will work together with the manager engineering, manager projects, other engineers and colleagues from sales, purchasing and production. In this position you report to the manager engineering.
You study all documentation, such as technical specifications, requirements package, draft contracts etc. You translate these into (structural and mechanical) calculations and technical drawings and you ensure that these are delivered on time. Depending on your ambitions and capabilities, you will visit customers and suppliers in the Netherlands and abroad several times a year, either independently or together with the projects manager, to give presentations or coordinate projects.

  • Completed technical education and HBO working and thinking level;
  • Experience with 3D CAD drawing, knowledge of Tekla or Solid Works is an advantage, not a requirement;

You can keep a good overview and monitor your own time schedule. You have a proactive and positive attitude. Through your broad technical knowledge and spatial insight you are able to execute a project effectively and efficiently. You work solution-oriented when bottlenecks occur. You are creative and you take the interests of all parties into account.
